Tetracaine hydrochloride is a highly effective local anesthetic that can reversibly block nerve function. It is clinically used in infiltration anesthesia, nerve block anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, etc. Compared with procaine, its local anesthetic effect is significant and has been widely used in clinical practice. The synthesis of p-butylamobenzoic acid is a key step in the synthesis of tetracaine hydrochloride. Chemicalbook has always had the disadvantages of unstable raw materials or low yield. In 1981, it was proposed to synthesize p-butylamobenzoate by alkylation of p-butylamobenzoate and 1-bromobutane. However, the formation of dibutylamobenzoate by-products could not be avoided, and the nature of the raw material itself was unstable, making this route not suitable for industrial production.
